Dr. Shabana Kazi

Dr Shabana Kazi is a skilled and experienced Physiotherapist specializing in intensive cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. With a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (B.P.Th) from Dr D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune, she has been actively involved in the rehabilitation of patients with complex cardiopulmonary, orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical conditions for nearly two decades.

Currently associated with K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai, since 2007, Dr Kazi plays a pivotal role in the intensive care and pulmonary rehabilitation unit, focusing on post-acute recovery, respiratory therapy, and tailored exercise prescriptions. Her expertise also extends to managing patients with general medical and orthopedic conditions, ensuring a holistic approach to rehabilitation.

In addition to her hospital work, Dr Kazi consults at Accidental Clinic, Mumbai, where she offers specialized care in post-operative rehabilitation, pediatric therapy, vascular disorder management, and lymphedema rehabilitation. Her dedication to personalized therapy has made her a trusted practitioner for complex and chronic cases.

Dr Kazi began her professional journey as a Pediatric Physiotherapist at Wadia Children’s Hospital and served as a Lecturer at AKI College of Physiotherapy between 2006 and 2007. She also gained valuable hands-on experience at Dr Asha Chitnis’s NDT-certified Physiotherapy Centre for specially-abled children, enhancing her skills in neurodevelopmental therapy and pediatric rehabilitation.

She has completed a comprehensive internship across 13 multispeciality hospitals in Pune, where she was exposed to a wide range of clinical scenarios including general medicine, burns, surgery, orthopedics, and critical care rehabilitation. Dr Kazi is also a certified Acupuncture Therapist, trained at the Indian Research Institute of Integrated Medicine (IRIIM), West Bengal, which adds a valuable integrative dimension to her physiotherapy practice.
